Idrac enterprise license. upgrade#
Cant help much beyond that but it is possible to upgrade via license file. I am imagining a scenario where a low level user has their password stolen, and the bad guys access the network through WiFi. Once there was a server with iDRAC Express that we needed to get into the console so we found a trial enterprise license that we were able to import and access the KVM console.

In my (indirect) experience, you get to keep the serial you have. People selling licenses have either reverse-engineered the way serials are checked or have had access to the algorithm with which the key is generated. Alternately, you may contact your Dell sales rep to request an APOS license for iDRAC7 Express or Enterprise for your Dell PowerEdge 12th generation server. The licenses are tied to your machines serial number.
